We have licensed tldraw v2 and are reimplementing boards with it. It addresses most of the major concerns with the current version of boards.
Will include:
* Embeddable elements within boards.
* Embeddable images
* Rich text notes
* better zoom controls
* minimap for navigation
* More than a dozen new shapes
* Frames, or containers that allow you to visually separate content on your boards
* New arrow binding logic and controls for arrow anchor placement and label placement
* Embeddable third-party blocks, like spotify and youtube

Boards V2 is functionally complete, but has a lot of remaining UI work that is dependent on upcoming changes to the LK UI as a whole. Moving from In Progress back to Planned until we have a grasp on the impact so that Boards V2 can be insanely polished.

More article content visible in Board Cards

So that I can use Boards as a quick overview of related content, I need more than just an article's image to be visible on the Board i.e. without needing to hover or click into the article.
A workaround currently is to use the Board's text feature, but this content is not findable from the related Article and any manual duplication will get out of date.
So essentially the goal is:
- Article text visible on the Board
- That text is present and editable in the Article or its sidebar properties without manual duplication
- Doesn't have to be editable on the Board as well, but nice upgrade
There are various ways this might be solved, and some of these would likely have performance complexity, but to list a few:
- Article Preview (the one that shows on hover) as a card format option.
- Embedded previews for articles might achieve that.
- If Article Transclusion is built, choosing a specific block (or set of blocks) to show on the board and have synced editing. This feels like the most powerful version but sounds complex to implement where simpler options can work.
- Specifying which sidebar property blocks to be shown on a Card (sort of the how Notion lets you choose what database properties get shown on a view).

Smoother Mousewheel Zoom on Boards

While in boards, ctrl+scroll up zooms in by 20% at a time, and ctrl+scroll down snaps to 10% zoom. This makes it feel very clunky and disorienting to navigate boards.
I love using whiteboarding software and I am accustomed to moving around with keyboard + mouse and its usually fluid and easy but here it is just frustrating. If the ctrl+mouse wheel could just zoom 10% at a time in both directions that would make a huge difference!

I think it would be nice to be able to have some sort of grid that items on boards to could be aligned to. I get the idea for boards is to arrange things however you want, but I'd love the idea to be able to more cleanly organize them.
