Dynamic Moons
Nimbus RPG
The current moon system is solid for realism, but lacks the flexibility many fantasy or sci-fi worldbuilders need. I’d love to see more narrative-friendly options for customizing moons and controlling their visibility across time.
What I’d like to see:
- Ability to set custom number of moon phases (not just 8).
- Option to name each phase.
- Support for non-uniform phase durations, even ones that defy scientific logic (to reflect magical phenomena).
- A way to toggle moon visibility over time within a given time system, either by setting visibility windows (active between certain years) or by showing/hiding moons at specific dates or events on a timeline.
Reasoning:
In my world, a moon breaks apart and reforms into multiple celestial bodies with different names and cycles. Many worldbuilders need moons that don't behave like real astronomical objects. Current limitations make it difficult to model magical or story-first cosmologies.
I love the timelines system, and I believe this feature would elevate it even further, not just for me, but for many other storytellers and creators as well.
